After Romulo and Cerchio, there’s another charming new bar/resto in the Scout area that’s worth discovering – Lola, meaning the oldest type of a house model (Bungalow kind). More and more, the trend of transforming old houses into theme restos with historical traces and modern, eclectic touches is becoming such an “in” thing in QC with every residential corning merging into the commercial.
The moment you enter Lola, you get the welcoming vibe and the homey feel (probably because it was a home). The interiors are clean and very stylish. Every corner is a photograph waiting to be taken.
The “garapon” light fixtures are my favorite touches, such a cool idea.
Owned by three bright young minds, the cutest being Howard Dee, Lola is a cool place to hang out with friends, celebrate birthday parties at and just enjoy a good bottle of Merlot or Shiraz. Somewhere you can have great conversations at.
Oh and the food! Although the menu is still very minimal (they’re on their soft opening), the portions are generous and satisfying. The taste is good but nothing superb or out of this world. But the Baked Dori is savory and the Vongole Pasta is worth mentioning.
The Ibiza is also something you should try and finish within a sip.
The service staff too are very polite, welcoming, efficient and sweet even.
